No Stopping (a red circle over crossed diagonal lines) prohibits halting your vehicle here at all, even briefly, even with you in it — except to obey a traffic signal, sign, or police direction.
Regulatory signs control how you may use the road — they must be obeyed.
Keep moving through the zone. Don't pause "just for a second" to check your phone, pick someone up, or wait at the curb — that's exactly what this sign bans.
Regulatory signs are usually white rectangles or squares with black or red markings. A few have special shapes: a red octagon means Stop and a red-and-white downward triangle means Yield. A red circle with a slash means something is prohibited.
Stricter than No Parking: no loading, no unloading, no waiting. If the question mentions dropping off a passenger, the answer under this sign is that it's not allowed.
