Right Turn Only means traffic in this lane must turn right at the intersection ahead — continuing straight from this lane is prohibited.
Regulatory signs control how you may use the road — they must be obeyed.
Follow the arrow and complete the right turn into the nearest lane of the cross street. If you need to go straight, move out of this lane before you reach the intersection.
Regulatory signs are usually white rectangles or squares with black or red markings. A few have special shapes: a red octagon means Stop and a red-and-white downward triangle means Yield. A red circle with a slash means something is prohibited.
Watch for this lane appearing as a "trap" in exam diagrams — a driver going straight from a right-turn-only lane is the wrong answer every time.
