Divided Highway Begins: the road ahead splits around a median, with opposing traffic physically separated. Keep to the right side of the divider.
Warning signs alert you to hazards or changing conditions ahead.
Stay right of the median as the road divides. Remember that left turns and U-turns will now only be possible at designated openings or interchanges.
Warning signs are usually yellow diamonds with black symbols. In construction or maintenance zones they are orange instead of yellow.
Pairs with "divided highway ends" (where two-way traffic resumes). The exam tests whether you can tell the begin and end symbols apart — the island in the symbol shows what the road is about to do.
