What to do at this sign

To change direction on a divided highway, continue to the next interchange or signed turnaround. Never nose through a median crossover marked with this sign, even to escape a traffic jam.

How to recognize this sign

Regulatory signs are usually white rectangles or squares with black or red markings. A few have special shapes: a red octagon means Stop and a red-and-white downward triangle means Yield. A red circle with a slash means something is prohibited.

How the Class 7 test asks about this sign

Median crossovers on Alberta highways are for authorized vehicles only — the test treats a U-turn through one as always illegal for regular drivers.
