No Parking (a "P" crossed out in a red circle) means you may not park here, but you may stop briefly to load or unload passengers or goods. Arrows or time tabs on the sign show where and when the ban applies.
Regulatory signs control how you may use the road — they must be obeyed.
Don't leave your vehicle here. If you're dropping someone off, keep it brief and stay with the vehicle. Check the arrows: they point along the stretch of curb the restriction covers.
Regulatory signs are usually white rectangles or squares with black or red markings. A few have special shapes: a red octagon means Stop and a red-and-white downward triangle means Yield. A red circle with a slash means something is prohibited.
The tested distinction: No Parking still allows momentary loading/unloading; No Stopping allows nothing. Mixing these up is one of the most common sign errors.
