Regulatory sign

What does the Keep Right sign mean?

Keep Right (an arrow curving down and to the right) orders traffic to pass to the right of the obstruction the sign sits on — a median island, pillar, or channelization at the start of a divided section.

Regulatory signs control how you may use the road — they must be obeyed.

What to do at this sign

Stay in or move into the lane to the right of the island. Do not swerve late — the sign is posted well before the obstruction to give you time.

How to recognize this sign

Regulatory signs are usually white rectangles or squares with black or red markings. A few have special shapes: a red octagon means Stop and a red-and-white downward triangle means Yield. A red circle with a slash means something is prohibited.
