Construction Ahead — the orange diamond is your first notice of a work zone: expect workers, equipment, lane closures, and reduced speed limits ahead.
Warning signs alert you to hazards or changing conditions ahead.
Slow to posted construction speeds, obey flaggers absolutely, and stay alert for sudden stops, lane shifts, and uneven surfaces. Merge early and courteously where lanes close.
Warning signs are usually yellow diamonds with black symbols. In construction or maintenance zones they are orange instead of yellow.
Orange = construction, and two rules are heavily tested: flagger directions override signs and signals, and speeding fines double in work zones when workers are present.
