Bicycle Crossing Ahead warns that a bike route or pathway crosses the road — cyclists may be entering the roadway at this point from either side.
Warning signs alert you to hazards or changing conditions ahead.
Scan both sides for approaching cyclists, slow down, and yield to any bike in the crossing. Remember cyclists are fast compared to pedestrians — look farther out than you would at a crosswalk.
Warning signs are usually yellow diamonds with black symbols. In construction or maintenance zones they are orange instead of yellow.
Sharing-the-road questions expect you to treat cyclists as vehicles with full right-of-way at their crossings, and to leave at least a metre when passing.
