What does the Bicycle Crossing Ahead sign mean?

Bicycle Crossing Ahead warns that a bike route or pathway crosses the road — cyclists may be entering the roadway at this point from either side.

What to do at this sign

Scan both sides for approaching cyclists, slow down, and yield to any bike in the crossing. Remember cyclists are fast compared to pedestrians — look farther out than you would at a crosswalk.

How to recognize this sign

Warning signs are usually yellow diamonds with black symbols. In construction or maintenance zones they are orange instead of yellow.
