Yield Ahead warns that a yield sign is coming up beyond your sight line. Expect to slow — and possibly stop — for traffic on the road you're about to join.
Warning signs alert you to hazards or changing conditions ahead.
Reduce speed now and start scanning the road you'll be yielding to, so that by the time you reach the yield sign you already know whether a gap exists.
Warning signs are usually yellow diamonds with black symbols. In construction or maintenance zones they are orange instead of yellow.
The advance triangle-in-a-diamond means the yield itself is still ahead; the test checks you know this is a warning sign, not the yield sign itself.
