Added Lane means a lane from the entering roadway joins your road as its own new lane — traffic does not have to merge. This is the crucial difference from a merge sign.
Warning signs alert you to hazards or changing conditions ahead.
Hold your lane and speed; the joining traffic gets its own lane beside you. Stay out of unnecessary lane changes near the junction and check your blind spot if you do move over.
Warning signs are usually yellow diamonds with black symbols. In construction or maintenance zones they are orange instead of yellow.
