Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the study platform:

• Account information you provide: your name, email address, and a hashed password (we never store passwords in plain text).
• If you sign in with Google: your name, email, and profile image as provided by Google.
• Study data: your practice answers, scores, XP, streaks, flashcards, and progress.
• Preferences: your chosen study language and optional test date.
• Basic technical data needed to operate and secure the site (e.g. request and session data).

How we use your information

• To provide the service: save your progress, power the pass-probability estimate, and personalize practice.
• To maintain security and prevent abuse.
• To improve the product and fix problems.
• To communicate with you about your account when necessary.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in (your authentication session).

We use analytics to understand how visitors use the site (for example, which pages are popular and general device and location information). We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies — you can opt out with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout — and Vercel Analytics, which does not use cookies.

We also display advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. Where required by law (for example, in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland), we will ask for your consent before personalized ads are served.

Artificial intelligence (optional)

The core app works without AI. If AI features (such as plain-language answer explanations) are enabled, the text of a question may be sent to a third-party AI provider to generate an explanation. We do not need to send your personal information to use these features.

How your data is stored and shared

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database and transmitted over encrypted connections. We do not sell your personal information.

We share data only with service providers that help us run the platform (for example, hosting, database, advertising, and—if enabled—optional AI or analytics providers), and only as needed to provide the service.

Your rights and choices

• Access and update your name, study language, and test date at any time from Settings.
• Delete your account, which removes your personal data and study history. Contact us to request deletion.
• Ask us what data we hold about you.

Children and age

The Alberta Class 7 learner's licence is available from age 14, and applicants under 18 need parental consent for licensing. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the date above.
