Truck Route marks a road designated for heavy trucks. Trucks over the posted weight are directed to use these routes rather than local streets.
Regulatory signs control how you may use the road — they must be obeyed.
As a car driver, expect heavy-vehicle traffic: leave longer following distances, avoid lingering in truck blind spots, and give trucks room to make wide turns.
Regulatory signs are usually white rectangles or squares with black or red markings. A few have special shapes: a red octagon means Stop and a red-and-white downward triangle means Yield. A red circle with a slash means something is prohibited.
The test may ask what the sign means for truck drivers (must use designated routes) — but also remember the sharing-the-road rules it implies for everyone else.
